Round 2: Malaysia
The Gaffer
Malaysia is nearly upon us and managers have until
23:00 Thursday 26th to finalise their teams.
So what have you done, made changes to your line up, worked on setup and development or decided to go for the money? It's a hard choice but here are a few things to consider.
Last year it was nip and tuck between Hamilton and Rosberg, but in 2014 Lewis ruled here. I wouldn't bet against Hamilton taking the win again.
Alonso should be back and we have seen from the past that no matter what car he is in, he's fast. But McLaren looked woeful in Australia and with it having been just two weeks I can't see him turning things around.
Renault engines had a tough weekend in the first round, with one car failing to start. Their reliability hit some managers hard affecting drivers from both Red Bull and Toro Rosso. However the Toro Rosso is looking good value for money and seems to be almost a match for the vastly more expensive Red Bulls.
With any luck Manor should be racing this weekend, with their software issues resolved. They are running with last years Ferrari engine and this could turn out one of two ways. It's reliable and they could pick up points benefiting from others misfortune or it could be just too slow. If the latter is the case will we see issues with the 107% rule and neither being allowed to start the race?
The weather in Malaysia often plays a factor and the 2015 GP will be no exception. Rain is forecast and when it rains in Malaysia, it really rains. These could be conditions that really mix up the field and allow for the likes of Button to put the McLaren in a position it really doesn't warrant.
Remember, if you didn't get your team in for Round 1, not all is lost. You can play from Round 2 and there will be an overall league for scores from then, but you must pick a team before 23:00 tomorrow.
